The Shady Cove/Trail Fire Rescue Support Group's purpose is to
contribute community support, funds, and materials, and provide aid during
extended fires in the Jackson county Fire District # 4. They also engage in
fundraising for items that benefit the Fire Department (and the rest of our
community!). Any member of the
community, who is sixteen years of age or older, may become a member of the
Support Group. A member must be at least eighteen years old to be elected
to an office. To be eligible for office/voting privileges, a person must
have been a member for sixty days.
Meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month, unless
otherwise noted. Notification of meetings will be posted at the Fire
Department.
Volunteer support and training is needed in these areas:
 |
Traffic Control: needed for city events (parades, etc.);
highway accidents; Log truck rollovers; Fire season-there is a need for
traffic control for free passage of emergency vehicles during a major fire. |
 |
Fire Season Support: How to fix meals & deliver
fire line supplies; a public info station needs to be manned at the
market to inform the community on the fire status; the water pumps for
refilling the trucks need to be manned. |
 |
Sand bag demonstration and consulting with the Corps of Engineers |
 |
Training on how to answer the phones at the station
if the department is called out. |
 |
What we can do to help if someone experiences a house
fire. |
 |
Weed Abatement: spring time check of city lots to see
where weeds need to be controlled before fire season-get addresses of owners
from city hall and send notice that weeds need to be taken care of. |
